The placid town of Placencia is home to a rich history, starting out as a renowned pirates hideaway that became a charming fishing village. It is now one of the faster-growing places in Belize, with new boutique resorts and amenities coming along the peninsula, but it has lost none of its charm. Placencia remains a quiet beach town of "barefoot luxury", where newcomers mingle with natives whose ancestors include both explorers, pirates and fishermen. The cadence of life here is a mesmerizing mix of beautiful white sand beaches splashed with waving palm trees and colorful cabanas scattered down the eastern shores of 20-mile long Placencia peninsula. On the west side of the peninsula a sprawling lagoon is home to tangles of mangrove trees rich with marine life. Placencia offers unlimited access to the Caribbean Sea, as well as the famous 183-mile long barrier reef and hundreds of islands and cayes. All of this is just a 22-minute flight from Belize City and the International.

The prettiest beach in all Belize has been Placencia's best kept secret for a long time, but more people are discovering the intoxicating allure of the unspoiled sands along this stretch of the Caribbean. Placencia Village has one of the longest sidewalks on the planet, and is a satisfying place for a stroll amid beachside cafes where you can feast on authentic Belizean cuisine and certainly the fresh catch of the day. A broad range of culinary delights to satisfy any tastes are all part of the charm. Strolling along the marina and hearing the quiet clatter of boats rocking in the cool ocean breeze is a great delight, as is watching the fishermen bring in their catch. Like everything else on the peninsula, nightlife here is extremely laid back. Temptation may call you to dance to the seductive Caribbean rhythms, or you can just catch the stars shining on the water with a seaside tropical cocktail in your hand.

The CB/Three Palms Belize office is located in the Live Oak Plaza about a few hundred yards south of the airport and just before you get to Francis Ford Coppola's Turtle Inn.
