Why Belize

The Reef

Belize's Barrier Reef is a ribbon of life that runs for 186 miles along the coast from the tip of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula south to the Gulf of Honduras making it the largest in the Western Hemisphere. More than 35 species of reef-building corals thrive in its sun-drenched waters, sheltering the coastline against erosion and providing sustenance and refuge for manatees, porpoises, turtles, over a hundred species of tropical fish, and boundless other marine life. This living wall of coral provides amazing fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, and diving. The Blue Hole, made famous by Jacques Cousteau, is the single biggest attraction for divers. Belize is home to three of the four atolls in the Western Hemisphere and provides one of the most astounding dive sites on earth.
